The first ever general meeting bringing together Consolata lay missionaries, Lay missionary couples and the friends of Consolata is taking place at Bethany House in Sagana, in Central Kenya beginning Friday 5th to Sunday 7th.

The groups are drawn from Uganda and Kenya so as to forge closer links to continue witnessing their Catholic faith while supporting the Consolata missionaries in their mission activities.

L’ Uganda è un paese con uno dei più alti tassi di natalità del mondo, e per la mancanza di terre coltivabili in pianura, interi villaggi si stabiliscano sulle montagne e sono costretti ad abbattere alberi per avere terreno coltivabile, creando così la condizione ideale per le frane e le alluvioni come i fatti di questi giorni hanno dimostrato.

Piogge torrenziali ancora in corso in Africa orientale stanno causando vittime e disagi con pesanti conseguenze sul comparto agro-zootecnico della regione. Il fatto più grave resta quello avvenuto in Uganda, dove una frana ha travolto tre villaggi dell’area di Bududa, causando la scorsa settimana la morte di circa 400 persone.

On 20th February we celebrated the Allamano youth day, the celebration was held at Consolata institute of philosophy. The day was organized by the Consolata sisters as a thanks- giving for the a hundred years they have lived since they were founded. Living a hundred years is something you should be proud of and thank God for the love and care he has given you.  The entire family of Consolata sisters, comprising of people with different preferences, have managed to live as one people all with a common charism, which is God’s love that is expressed in the way people of different back ground live in harmony with one another. Really sisters had a reason for thanking God.
