The first profession for our institute is a great moment and celebration. It is a moment of renewing our commitment for those already professed and a great sign of hope for the Church and the Institute. This month of July on the 14th at Sagana, we witnessed fifteen young men commit their life to the missionary apostolate of the Church and the institute for sixteen months. Those that professed are from: Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia - this was also a sign of internationality. The newly professed will now proceed for theological studies in different Theologicums in Kenya, DR Congo, Brazil, Colombia and Italy-Rome.
In the novitiate they have sharpened there missionary vocation and acquired the missionary spirituality. They are members of the institute now because of the common vocation and the one goal towards which we all tend. They are to form one single family, one community of life and work or study for them.
The occasion was graced by His Lordship Bishop Ireri Mukobo, the Regional Superior of Kenya and his Vice, many Consolata Missionaries (Sisters, Brothers, Priests and Lay), members of other Religious Institutes and Diocesan clergy, the Christian community of Sagana and the family members and friends of the professing candidates.
The bishop exulted the professing candidates to aim at resembling Christ in the practice of the evangelical counsels and to make prayer the means of fulfilling all these. He said it is only in prayer that will be able to face the challenges of religious life.
We wish them all the best and may Our Lady Consolata and Blessed Allamano pray with them. |
