As you may know, Wonji Catholic Church is run by our Congregation, IMC, since 1980. We are serving God in different sectors, such as Pastoral and social development projects. Historically, Ethiopia has its own calendar which is completely different from the universe. For example, currently we are in the month of August 2007. With regard to the Ethiopian calendar, it is the month of NAHASE 1999. On the 21st of NAHASE of each year, the Parishioners, friends, Priests, Sisters, Guests, why not Bishop, from respective places, always attend to the celebration of the annual Feast of Wonji Catholic Church.
While we are in process of handing over this mission to Meki Vicariate as soon as possible, yesterday, as mentioned-above was the 21st of NAHASE (27th of August 2007). On that occasion, we attended to the annual feast of our Church animated by a rousing chorus. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Antonio Vismara, the Regional Superior, and concelebrated by some Confreres and different priests from different parishes.
May Our Lady keep on taking care of Wonji mission under Her Loving care!
