On 29th September 2007, we, in Allamano Community in Kenya had a seminar of Human Relationship. The seminar was officiated by Sr. Scholastica Nganda, of sisters of Mercy. In her talk, she insisted that any genuine human relationship must be founded on love, but not just the abstract concept of love that entails mere affection! Love that is God. God loved us first, and then called us into a relationship with him, a relationship which is portrayed by our relationship with other human beings. After the seminar we had a feast to celebrate the Birthdays of Fr. Antony Magnante and Patrick Asanga (one of us) and to welcome Ferruccio Mazzi, a diocesan seminarian from the diocese of Verona in Italy. We then retired to bed to prepare for tomorrow's pastoral work.
On 6th October the Allamano community and the Consolata Sisters held a joint recollection session. The recollection took place at the Dimesse Sisters Retreat Centre, and it was officiated by Fr. Antony Oure, IMC. In the his talks which were based on mission, Fr. Oure insisted that we are consecrated for the mission, and therefore we have the duty to form our lives for the same.
He challenged us to re-discover the mission we obtained through our baptism, and for which we have centred our lives through our consecration. |
