 Having prepared for quite sometime, on the eleventh of this month the Superior General, the Vice Superior General and the General Councilor for Africa arrived to the Allamano House, our community, for the canonical visit.
The meeting with the Superiors started at 10.30. Fr. Bellagamba opened with a prayer. After that, the secretaries of the different dimensions in our community read the reports sharing how we are trying to implement the Community Plan of Life and the whole formation programme.
Fr Fiorentini, Superior General, addressed us shortly before we dispersed and go for personal dialogues with them. While the Superior General talked with the professors, Fr. Ouma and Fr. Camerlengo listened to our personal report.
 This went on throughout the day, and also the early hours of the following day (Sunday). On Sunday morning the Superior General presided Mass. He insisted on the need for each one of us as Christian to give thanks to God for whatever He gives us.
At half past three in the afternoon, we held the last meeting. The Superiors gave us a feedback of what they had seen and heard in their visit. After this they left for the final meeting with the professors.
Therefore, the canonical visit became a crowning event in our mid-term break as the following day we were to resume classes after a week of recess. |
