| The results of the climate conference in Bali |

 This conference ended with a roadmap that directs the negotiations towards a new agreement replacing the Kyoto Agreement, ending in 2012.There are 2 positive points but with 2 shadows 1. The “polluters” committed to reduce the gas emissions responsible for all the climate changes already well active on the African continent. Shadow: There is no binding limit because of the US request. The roadmap sends back to the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on the climate change (GIEC) with a footnote in the preamble. And there are definite indications mentioned in the research of the GIEC. 2. The “funds” given to the developing countries to allow them to adapt to the climate warming are approved. However, the beneficiaries regret the sum allocated being too small and also the direction given to the funds. These countries don’t have the technologies nor the funds to pay for the patents of these technologies. They also wished to be better represented in the executive committee. They also regret the slowness in the administration in regard to the urgency of the already present challenges. |
