Kenya: Youth United for Peace |

 On Saturday May 3. 9 am – 5 pm at City Council Grounds, next to Meteorological Department Headquarters, Dagoretti Corner, Nairobi, there was a marvelous Cooperation in making reconciliation a reality and the challenge of the time for the Kenyan Catholic Youth in countering the aftermath of the post- election violence. The theme was “Youth United for Peace in Kenya.”
The post-election violence left many people with great bitterness and ethnic animosity which if not urgently solved, will certainly plunge Kenya into another pool of blood in the near future.
This is why the combined effort of Africa Peace Point, Koinonia community, Catholic Justice and Peace Commission -ADN, Little Brothers of the Gospel Consolata Missionaries, Comboni Missionaries and Missionaries of Africa brought together the youth from Nairobi and its environs in an attempt towards reconciliation and celebration of unity in diversity.
There were Dances, Poems, Acrobats, Skits, Exhibitions and Talks. Other entertainments included appearances by NDG and Alfamatone, Kayamba Africa, Shades Classics, Tobias Comedies, Kenya Musicians for Peace, Desert Africa Acrobats.
Much Thanks to the organizers for making such a great effort in promoting mutual acceptance and reconciliation of the youth.
