The year 2000 in Ethiopian Calendar, which will end after one month, is characterized by different priestly ordinations in IMC Ethiopian region. In May, we attended the priestly ordination of our Confrere Fr. Ashenafi. On 13th of July, it was the turn of our Confrere Reverend Fr. Tamarat. The Ceremony took place in his own parish in the town called “Matahara”. Matahara town is situated in eastern part of Ethiopia, particularly in Harar vicariate.
We started the day gathered around ‘the first table' which was defined by the sumptuous Eucharistic ceremony in “Geese” rite. During his homely, His Excellency, Bishop TENSAYE, explained from the Holy Bible the meaning of Priesthood.
Then, he thanked God and wished Reverend Fr. Tamarat all the best for his mission. Before the last benediction, it was the turn of Reverend Fr. Tamarat to thank the Almighty God, his Parents, Consolata Missionaries, friends, and all the parishioners in Matahara’s town for so many and good things they have been doing in his life.
Actually, Reverend Fr. Tamarat spent his novitiate in Kenya, and then flew to Colombia for his theological studies. The continuation and the last of the ceremony were around the ‘second table’, which was the sharing of food in Fr. Tamarat’s family.
Reverend Fr. Tamarat, for your new mission which is Brazil, we all wish you a successful mission in prayers with our Lady Consolata, all the Archangels and Angels of God!
May God bless you for ever and ever, Amen!
